David E. Ross requested I forward this to the list. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Emma Humphries <[email protected]> Date: Tue, Jun 28, 2016 at 5:34 PM Subject: [Intent to Close Bugzilla Component] Toolkit::Security To: "dev. planning" <[email protected]>
After consulting with dveditz, we're moving the bugzilla.mozilla.org component Toolkit::Security to Toolkit::Graveyard. That means no more bugs will be able be filed against the component. We're going to fast-track closing this out because there are unresolved bugs in it, and it never represented a feature or specific code part of the product where closing the bug component implies abandoning the code itself. Toolkit::Security was a magnet for misfiled bugs that were actually 'security flaws in toolkit' that should have been filed against the specific Toolkit feature with the flaw. That kept bugs away from developers who weren't aware of them unless there was additional triage. Again, since there are no open bugs, and no explicitly associated code, we'll move this tomorrow, Wednesday the 29th.
