All, SSL.com and VikingCloud are disclosing details for the technical community in this forum, regarding the acquisition of VikingCloud’s Digital Certificate Business.
This acquisition has been broken down into two phases: In the first phase, SSL.com has acquired the customer portfolio and will be transitioning customer certificate management to the SSL.com CA Hierarchies. VikingCloud will provide SSL.com with cross-signed certificates and will continue to own and operate the VikingCloud CA Root Keys and hierarchy until phase two. In the second phase, anticipated towards the end of the first quarter of 2026, VikingCloud will begin to revoke end entity and intermediates certificates in the VikingCloud CA Hierarchy and SSL.com will be taking ownership of VikingCloud Root CA Keys. We will begin public discussion of the transfer of the VikingCloud CA Root Keys to SSL.com early in the first quarter of 2026 using this same post thread.
