You are requiring me to prove my assertion that Amazon doesn't do the
same amount of business in a year as The Mozilla Store? Wow...
I am happy to say that preventing another Enron is out of scope for EV.
But you keep mentioning how trustworthy entities with EV certs are,
which is it?
There are two ways EV could work:
1) Assess an entity's trustworthiness - do the directors have criminal
records, are their customers generally satisfied, are the accounts
clean, do they have criminal intent.
2) Keep them honest by getting enough information about them that if
they do do something nasty, they'll get caught.
1) is impossible, so we do 2). So they are trustworthy by threat rather
than trustworthy by assessment.
