Microsoft were keen that we signed nightlies, as their reputation system uses digital signatures to a large degree. Not quoting them, but I suspect that having IE warn people that a Firefox download was potentially malicious software just looked bad! We now do, I believe, sign nightlies. So perhaps this will not be a problem for either IE or Chrome/the Google service.
