I just landed the first two patches in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=809533 on mozilla-inbound, which makes allocation from nsPresArena and from the display list arena be infallible. This means that an allocation failure from one of these arenas will now cause the application to abort immediately rather than crashing a few lines later due to a missing null-check. It also means we should remove the null-checks that we did have (although there are two further patches in that bug, not yet landed, that do some of this).
