I am using 1.7.13. That's the reason for trouble :) And one more question: If I want method parameter types to be nsEmbedString, what type should I use in the XPIDL? PS: IMHO, there is very less documentation available for nsEmbedString. And I feel that the strings guide is also tricky(atleast it takes lot of time to go though the entire stuff). And the quick guide is too short. This is just feedback. Probably I can contribute to the documentation once I understand strings and finish coding component for my extension.
