Gluing two binaries together is how UB .dylibs are typically created, using the "lipo" tool.

But, you don't actually have to glue them together. You can ship them separately in the appropriate platform-specific directory:

extension/platform/Darwin_ppc-gcc3/components/libmycomponent.dylib
extension/platform/Darwin_x86-gcc3/components/libmycomponent.dylib
