Indeed a good question. Though it's one that applies equally much to if we use a packaged or non-packaged solution for trusted apps. Based on feedback Google has received from app developers for their app store is that packaged was actually preferable to many developers since it was more similar to how traditional applications work. > If I understand the above discussion, the advantage of having a packaged app > is access to more powerful APIs, correct? Correct. > Why would say, a top app developer view this as important specific to > Mozilla's App Store? I don't understand the question. > What percentage of app developers are you looking to grab that would build > trusted apps instead of an untrusted app? I don't know. I think/hope that it's a relatively small percentage of developers that would need to use trusted apps. But some of them are high profile. I could for example see that instagram would want to use it for improved DeviceStorage use, and facebook would want to use it for better Contacts API integration. > Have any app developers expressed interest in this enhanced power a trusted > app has? I haven't been doing the developer outreach so I can't answer this personally. / Jonas _______________________________________________ dev-webapps mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-webapps
