Indeed a good question. Though it's one that applies equally much to
if we use a packaged or non-packaged solution for trusted apps.

Based on feedback Google has received from app developers for their
app store is that packaged was actually preferable to many developers
since it was more similar to how traditional applications work.

Correct.

I don't understand the question.

I don't know. I think/hope that it's a relatively small percentage of
developers that would need to use trusted apps. But some of them are
high profile. I could for example see that instagram would want to use
it for improved DeviceStorage use, and facebook would want to use it
for better Contacts API integration.

I haven't been doing the developer outreach so I can't answer this personally.
