Currently, the simulator is the only way to test packaged apps without a 
physical device, yes.

So, back to the topic of this thread ... r2d2b2g is the only way how to
develop podcatcher for Firefox OS (without having the actual device in
hand, which not many people outside of MoFo have), and it will never run
on Firefox/Android?
