1) Will there be localized versions of the extensions so I can verify
the translation and file bugs I see when testing it? (I didn't know
where to put the /shared/ files in r2d2b2g 0.8)
I hope so! The extension uses the Add-on SDK, which has support for
localization, but it doesn't yet isolate strings into localization
files. I filed issue 185 <https://github.com/mozilla/r2d2b2g/issues/185>
on this.
2) If the answer to 1) is no, is it easily possible to add a
translation to the xpi (without manually adding files and editing
manifests) which I also could redistribute to testers?
This isn't yet easy to do, unfortunately.
3) Is there some documentation available on how to set/alter the
simulator's state/environment (e.g. available connectivity options,
adding/removin SIM etc)?
The Simulator app is just a slightly-modified version of B2G Desktop
with a slightly-modified version of Gaia, so docs on B2G Desktop (and
B2G generally, and Gaia) will also apply to the Simulator to some
extent. Here are a couple of those docs:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Boot_to_Gecko/Using_the_B2G_desktop_client
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Gaia/Hacking
4) Will there be daily nightly builds eventually?
I hope so! But I don't have concrete plans to make this happen at this time.
5) Does the simulator launch in the minimum dimension defined in the
specifications?
It launches in the default dimension of B2G Desktop, which is 320x480.
