Ok thanks for all the responses ! Using postMessage seems to be the best solution provided that one can restrict the diffusion of a message to a specific app uri; At least until oauth providers support the app:// scheme (google only support http and chrome-extension for now).
I will ditch oauth support for now and handle the user credentials in my app. PS: I was developing an rss reader app based on google reader but I've just learned that they are shutting the service down.
