I think it makes sense to move it out. It should be able to evolve at its own
pace, independent of the Accumulo release schedule. I think its also nice to
have newer version of wikisearch work with older versions of Accumulo. For
example if new features are added to wikisearch and its released again, it
would be nice if the newer version worked with Accumulo 1.4.X. If its
versioned with Accumulo there is a temptation to take advantage of newer
feature of Accumulo that do not exist in older versions.
If its in contrib, it can be built and placed in a contrib dir at release time.
Also, it can evolve at its own pace. So when we release 1.5.0, we can include
wikisearch.
If its in apache svn or on github, it would be nice if stayed compatible with
the apache license so it can be included w/ an Accumulo release.
