[DISCUSS] Time for 1.7.1?

Hiya!

How do folks feel about a 1.7.1 RC?

We're past 8 months since 1.7.0 and up to 118 fixes that are in 1.7.1 and
not the 1.6.1-1.6.4 releases.

Is there anything that must get in before we have a release candidate?
