    This certainly seems like it could be a follow-on task. I very much the 
idea of public API around RFile read/write because of bulk imports. Right now, 
users have a stable API in which to import RFiles into Accumulo. However, the 
only public API to generate RFiles is via MapReduce (which is soooo 2008).

    Completely makes sense.
