Devs,

Please review the website updates for the 4.0.0-alpha-1 release and the
draft announcement below.

--------

The Apache Accumulo project is pleased to announce the release of version
4.0.0-alpha-1. Apache Accumulo 4.0.0-alpha-1 is the first alpha release of
the planned 4.0 non-LTM release line. This release is not ready for
production use
and existing Apache Accumulo instances should not be upgraded to this
release.
Apache Accumulo 4.0 intends to provide the same features and guarantees
as prior versions but provide the user with flexible deployment options for
resource optimization.
See the release notes linked below for details. *** Apache Accumulo® is a
sorted, distributed key/value store that provides robust, scalable data
storage and retrieval. With Apache Accumulo, users can store and manage
large data sets across a cluster. Accumulo uses Apache Hadoop compatible
file systems to store its data and Apache ZooKeeper for consensus. This
version is now available in Maven Central, and at:

Thanks,

Dave
