i hope you run AMQ as a non-root-user?
If so, this:
<connectors>
<nioConnector port="993" />
</connectors>
is probably the problem. Ports < 1024 can only be opened up by root, unless
something like setuid() is used (== start as root -> open port -> drop
privileges to unprivilegded user), but this is not the case here.
Change the port to something > 1024 and the warning / error should
disappear.
