My guess here is that you've submitted a thread to your executor that's being
run and isn't stopping. When the executor destructor runs it will wait but
gives up after awhile so the object's resources are gone and that thread
finally ends for whatever reason only to find that the parent is gone so the
return of the Node walks into memory that's not valid any longer.
