Issue there is it's auto exposed over JMX which will use java serialization
and then as it's exposed nothing stops someone else building on it.
If the issue is just the json is hand cranked. What about where the JSON
was described as a java object using Jackson? This way you would get a java
class so if anything changed you would notice that, but also we then don't need
to expose any new surface area
