If you look at the commit report for 2.7.0, you may ask where is the
XREF column?

http://activemq.apache.org/artemis/commit-report-2.7.0.html

That's a list of committs that were cherry-picked into 2.6.x

with that list, you will know if a commit on 2.6.x will include the
famous "Check picked from commit XXXXXXXX"

that's all you need to have a commit appearing on that list.

And that's why I'm keen to keep the cherry-pick -x, or a commit
<complete-id> on whatever cherry-picks we make.

That makes it easy to manage missing commits on future 2.7.x against
master releases (or even future 2.6.x). that's easy to find exactly
what's missing with the HTML report.. I had tried to do this manually
and it was quite tedious, hence I wrote the PET project to do that
parsing.
