I just noticed that the CPP release link is showing version 1.1, so yeah
I'm going to assume it's completely irrelevant at this point as it doesn't
mention Maven at all.

This guide for AMQ is also very old and out of date but at least it shows
the example commands with the release plugin;

My guess is that some of this will just have to be figured out along the
way as the documentation is just out of date.
