Amila Ishara Ranatunga commented on AIRAVATA-52:
------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I am University Of Moratuwa student who is currently involved in research of
creating Geo Science gateway for the Apache AIRAVATA. Since this is inline with
our research area I am interested in this project to do as my GSOC 2013
project. AFAIK apache OODT is consisted of Product server/client, Query
server/client and Catalog and Archive Server. Is this project directly involve
with Gfac core? Or this extension is relevant to Xbaya too?. I would like to
discuss more about this project. Any previous implementations of OODT CAS will
be really helpful.

Thank You !

> Create an OODT File Manager extension point for Airavata for data and
> workflow cataloging. Also investigate the use of cas-catalog from OODT too.
> Airavata GFac has an data cataloging interface which by default publishes to
> the Airavata registry. An implementation to use the rich data cataloging
> features of OODT will enhance the users to store and retrieve richer metadata
> from workflow execution.
