Shawn Kern commented on AMBARI-2006:
------------------------------------

In our deployment we were able to work around this issue by adding "reposdir="
to /etc/yum.conf

This will ignore any repo files that are placed in /etc/yum.repos.d and allow
the satellite channels to take over.

This has been tested on RedHat Linux 6.4

> Some companies have a robust RHEL management environment and heavily use
> satellite servers. In those cases, they want to put Ambari packages in
> satellite which means that during the installation we never need local repo
> files. Also, some companies want to manage local repo files themselves. It
> would be great to have an Advanced option to avoid local repo distribution
> and epel rpm package installation.
