Florian Barca created AMBARI-9505:
-------------------------------------

Summary: Hive service with HDPWIN 2.2 fails to start
                 Key: AMBARI-9505
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-9505
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Task
          Components: ambari-agent, ambari-server
    Affects Versions: 2.0.0
            Reporter: Florian Barca
            Assignee: Florian Barca
             Fix For: 2.0.0

Repro Steps 1:
1. Deploy HDP 2.2 with HIVE from Ambari
2. Notice HiveServer2, Hive Metastore and WebHCAT start but HIVE smoke test
hangs.
3. Goto c:\hadoop\logs\hive\hive.log.
4. Notice that hive server is throwing exception because sqljdbc4.jar is not in
the CLASSPATH.
5. Copy sqljdbc4.jar and sqljdbc_auth.dll to C:\hdp\hadoop\share\hadoop\common
and restart hive services. Notice there are no exception being thrown and
starts cleanly.
6. However even after this HIVE smoke (i.e. RunSmokeTests.cmd HIVE hangs). This
needs to be further investigated.
Caused by: org.datanucleus.exceptions.NucleusException: Attempt to invoke the
"BONECP" plugin to create a ConnectionPool gave an error : The specified
datastore driver ("com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver") was not found
in the CLASSPATH. Please check your CLASSPATH specification, and the name of
the driver.
