Can we just do this:
create_input_dir_cmd = format("fs -mkdir /tmp/tezsmokeinput")
->
create_input_dir_cmd = format("fs -mkdir -p /tmp/tezsmokeinput")
This will save us some time on deploy (on loaded cluster it's about 1-2mins)
