A couple of issues:
1. need to show perhaps a max of two decimal points (0 decimal for GAUGE)
2. even if the value displayed is super long for whatever reason, it should be
constrained to its own widget space
3. For some reason, if the value is NaN, should show "n/a", now it is showing
the empty value with a unit.
