Hari Sekhon created AMBARI-10834:
------------------------------------

Summary: Restart services automatically after a node reboot
                 Key: AMBARI-10834
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-10834
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: ambari-agent, ambari-server
    Affects Versions: 2.0.0
         Environment: HDP 2.2
            Reporter: Hari Sekhon

When a node reboots for any reason Ambari does not automatically restart the
services on that node after it comes back up.

I think it would be beneficial for the services on that node to be
auto-restarted, equivalent to if they were locally controlled via init scripts.

This could be done via Ambari server re-issuing the start commands when the
agent comes back in to contact and it sees the services are down but last
requested state was started (the agent is actually auto-started on boot since
it's an init script) or the agent itself could maintain the last requested
state locally in state files and ensure that the services are restarted if they
are down during periodic process checks.
