The Apache Ambari <http://ambari.apache.org/> project is aimed at making Hadoop
management simpler by developing software for provisioning, managing, and
monitoring Apache(tm) Hadoop® clusters. Ambari provides an intuitive,
easy-to-use Hadoop management web UI backed by its RESTful APIs and its
extensible framework.

Come join the us for a HackFest on Saturday, October 17th where you will learn
how to use Ambari's extensible framework to write an Ambari Service and create
customized Views to help you understand, view, and manage your cluster
resources in a multi-tenant Hadoop environment.

The day will start off with breakfast and a short intro to Apache Ambari and
how to customize Ambari Views and deploy and manage Services. There will be
plenty of examples to get you started and Apache Ambari founding committers,
contributors and experts will be available throughout the day to provide
assistance and guidance.
This goal of this HackFest is to:

Introduce new contributors to the Apache Ambari communityLearn about & use the
Apache Ambari extensible frameworkMeet other talented & motivated
hackersDemonstrate your skills and gain recognition as you productize your
ideaGet feedback from your peers.

By the end of the day, you will hopefully have a working feature to share to
your fellow Hackers and the Apache Ambari community!
Because this is a one day HackFest, we highly encourage you to work together in
a group of 2-3. You can form a group beforehand or look for a team to join on
Devpost<http://hackfestforambari.devpost.com/>.

All participants will receive a HackFest t-shirt. Breakfast, lunch, drinks &
snacks will be provided. Top three teams will win $25 Amazon gift cards for
each member.

Cheers,
Organizing Team
