I think a several things went wrong here.
1. This commit introduced unit test failures. See above.
2. Hadoop QA posted failures, but this was committed without any action or
explanation.
3. There was no message along with the commit, saying this was committed to
trunk and branch-2.2.
4. The author/committer was not mentioned in the commit log.
