There is a JIRA for introducing new Ambari functionality, for adding new repositories to an existing cluster. *JIRA:* https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-13216 *Brief description: **"**Current Ambari (2.2.0) does not support adding new repositories to the existing ones that are predefined in the stack." *The proposal is to bring in new functionality for users to add repositories through UI. This would allow them to install any pluggable services using rpms/tars hosted on external repositories. A design document has been attached to the JIRA.
