As you may know, the latest versions of Apache Iceberg have set Java 11 as the minimum supported JDK version. Additionally, several other dependencies and projects in the ecosystem are no longer maintaining compatibility with Java 8. This trend makes it increasingly challenging to continue supporting Java 8 in our project while staying up-to-date with the latest features and security improvements.
