Hi all,
Thank you all for the detailed verification and the votes — the
builds from source, Kerberos smoke tests, Helm checks and license
reviews are exactly what this vote needs.
Here is a summary of the follow-up items raised in this thread,
with their status:
1. Binary LICENSE: jersey containers listed under AL-2.0 while
Jersey is EPL 2.0, and jersey-core missing (Jiwon, adding to
Xu Bai's list)
Tracked as #4381 and already fixed on master by #4382
("Fix and extend third-party license documentation in
LICENSE-binary", merged 2026-09-20). Thanks Jiwon for the
quick PR. Since it postdates the RC10 tag, the corrected
LICENSE-binary will be included in the next release.
2. Frontend third-party license files under amoro-web/licenses
are not propagated into the binary distribution (Xu Bai)
Agreed this should be improved. I will open a tracking issue
and extend the binary assembly so the frontend license
metadata is carried into the distribution, targeting the
next release.
3. Pushing an RC tag publishes images to the public Docker Hub
repository and overwrites apache/amoro:latest (Xu Bai)
Confirmed — this also happened during this cycle. I will fix
the docker-images workflow to ignore *-rc* tags (publishing
only on final release tags) before the official release is
finalized, and re-check that latest points at the last
released version afterwards.
4. Website https://amoro.apache.org/docs/latest/ fails to load
(Tao Wang)
I can reproduce it and will investigate on the site
repository, where the fix will be filed and tracked. This
does not affect the release artifacts themselves.
5. [jdk17] java.security.jgss does not export
sun.security.krb5 to unnamed module (Tao Wang)
Tracked as #4384. To be fixed for the next release; in the
meantime JDK 11 remains the recommended runtime for the
binary distribution, as documented.
None of the above blocks this vote, so unless objections arise
I will send the [RESULT][VOTE] shortly and then move the
candidate to the IPMC vote on [email protected].
Thanks again for helping push 0.9.0 forward.
Best regards,
czy006 (Conrad Jam)
