It is GPL, which conflicts with Apache Licensing and can't be added to the project. (This is a long standing policy decision/interpretation). I see they have a special exception for "linked executables" but if you wish to discuss the meaning of this exception you should probably do it in a thread on the dev list before adding more comments here.
