I did some further investigation of source code for XDoclet, Ant 1.5.3 and HEAD. Indeed XDoclet uses the DynamicConfigurator interface and defines "deploymentdescriptor" as both EjbDotXmlSubTask and WebXmlSubTask classes. Ant uses a Hashtable of "name" => Class.
