Could you attach a sample of your build file, so that I see how you invoke the mail task ? Do you have mail.jar and activation.jar in your classpath ? Can you try to run your build, invoking the mail task like that : <mail encoding="plain" ...> this disables the use of the JavaMail. I do not know see any direct usage of MailDateFormat in ant.
