It is not possible to add every useful task into Ant's core and optional tasks. In fact, we would argue that there are already too many tasks in the main Ant distribution, tasks which are difficult to maintain because committer resources in scarce in the more esoteric areas. We are at present happy to have tasks maintained external to Ant, such as those from ant-contrib. The core of Ant will mostly concentrate on features where the supporting classes are provided directly by the JDK. Optional tasks provided with Ant will be those where there is significant committer support (CVS tasks would be an example). There are various exceptions to these principles but these are generally a result of historical quirks. -- Configure bugmail: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
