           Summary: Have <input> task echo the existing value when bypassing
                    input
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.6.2
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

In our system, the developer's can have a properties file in a magic location
and the build script will attempt to load the file prior to gathering input
from the user (via a series of <input> call). It would be nice for debugging
if the <input> task echo the value of the property that is is NOT asking for.

Thanx,

P.S. Looking at the code it would a trival change to the top of the execute
function (new code is in square brackets []):

    public void execute () throws BuildException {
        if (addproperty != null
            && getProject().getProperty(addproperty) != null) {
            log("skipping " + getTaskName() + " as property " + addproperty
                + " has already been set [to " + getProject().getProperty
(addProperty) + "].");
            return;
        }
