http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=37286 Summary: MacroDef Element Namespaces Product: Ant Version: 1.6.5 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: Core AssignedTo: dev@ant.apache.org ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I personally would like a schema for Ant build files. Sure, no schema could ever be complete for Ant but a "good enough" schema could do in just about all cases that most people will encounter and schema extensions may be able to fill in the rest. However, I could write a schema today if characteristics such as the "name" attribute of the "element" element in MacroDefs could be specified against a specific namespace. If I could do that then I could write a schema with lots of "any" elements validating against ##other namespaces and I could make most of my build files validate quite cleanly while remaining quite flexible.
