The bug is due to the mixture of add and addConfigured methods on Mapper and MapperContainer. The add methods are called when the nested element is encountered and converted to a object but before "configuration" (setting the attributes and adding the nested elements) , the addConfigured methods are called after all the nested elements have been read in and configured.
