I did (and I had found the issue); the ivy-2.0.0-rc1.jar is in the root of the 
plugins folder of the eclipse installation.
I also tried to follow the instructions in the wiki at 
http://cwiki.apache.org/IVY/releasing-ivyde.html but it didn't help me out.
