A native Java parser for Microformats2 now exists here:
https://github.com/kylewm/mf2j
There's still a few items in the library's TODO list but at least now you don't
have to start from scratch!
A demo of the parser is running here https://mf2j.herokuapp.com/ and you can
interact with it by supplying a URL to parse, like so:
