single-jar. Is there a problem to provide a zip-archiv with some folders, which have the user to unpack and double-click the launcher.jar?
no, not at all. It was just that I was completely unaware of this (application jars unability to handle variing external class paths), so I spent some hours trying to set a classpath from outside, have my officebean in my application jar and looking for a magic "setOfficePath" command in the officeWriterBean that is provided as a sample.
Fine, and if you need more code I can post a url.
Ease of use has been postponed into the next version ;) I'll just release 0.1 as a ZIP (and let my user set the class path manually) and well, there's plenty of work to be done till 1.0 which may be a launcher that sets the classpath and after that a launcher+classloader, and maybe we'll switch to OO 2.0 before my App reaches 1.0.
Well, thanks a lot. I really had a difficult time when I realized that this just would not be deployable in the way I planned and now I at least know the alternatives. If you have this URL handy, I would archive it for later use, but if not, don't worry, I'll be back in this mailing list bugging you all ;-)
