Yes, you should. You can download a pre-alpha developer version to
verify this if you desire. The API is very consistant between releases.

Because 1.1.4 is the latest release. They make the most current stable
production release the easy release to download.
iii) When is version 2.0 likely to be due?
Hmmm, I am not the right person to respond to this question, but my
guess is perhaps maybe possibly around April.
