OOo (the "official builds" at least)automatically creates a crash dump when it crashes. Usually you will be asked on the next OOo startup if you want to submit it to Sun to allow crash analysis and possibly fixing the cause of the crash. If you add your e-mail address to the crash report we could identify it and give you a short answer wether the bug is known, fixed or at least could be bypassed. If you want, you can also create an issue and refer to the crash report ID you get in return when you enter you e-mail address in the report (and so allow contact). A short description what you did when the crash happened would help.
