Looks as you have become the victim of a bug. I tested it by myself and indeed it seems to be broken in OOo1.1.4. I think there is already an existing issue, but I don't remember its state (I assume it will be fixed in OOO1.1.5). I tested it also in a recent 1.9.101 build and it worked (should work in the most recent public OOo build also). Perhaps you can give it a try.
