I'm not sure if I understand what you mean.
and you're right as I mixed some informations
It looks that you are
interested in the selected part of a spreadsheet and that you don't get
enough information from the selection API. So it seems that the API of a
selected object needs to be improved. The purpose of the "view data"
goes beyond this.
the currentSelection, is imho sufficient in many cases
it returns the selection so the activeCell
But, in case of multiple selections, or a range selection
even inside the selection there is an active cell, the last selected one
That is the main difference of the activeCell regarding VBA
I'm sure Paolo will have more use cases
Moreover, reading the available informations, i think all the viewdata
informations (eg, the position of frozen pans) should be available. But
this information is perharps available in an pther API
Generally speaking, i would tend to give accessibility to all
informations stored in such strings as viewData through the usual
mechanism of the API.
I'll discuss with paolo and try to build a proposal/specification (?)
What would be the format to use ?
