If it is not intentional it's a bug in the code.
If it is intentional it's a bug in the IDL documentation since it
doesn't mention this behaviour.
So in any case it's a bug. Please check if it is already reported in
the issue tracker and file a bug report if it isn't. If you don't
mind, post the issue number in this thread so that other interested
parties know about it.
