First of all you need to make sure in Basic you are
using a Function not a sub. Only a function can return
a value.

Thanks for the code, but this is not what I asked. I know how to get the
result of a script function.
I want to know if it is possible to get the result of an out or inout
parameter, as described in the IDL. If it is not currently possible this
should be written there, otherwise people waste their time.
