This isn't an OpenOffice bug, but I thought people who develop with OpenOffice might like to know about this.
There is a know issue with AWT frames in JVM 1.4.2_12 that kills the the Java Virtual Machine: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6450869 Everything works ok in 1.4.2_8 but it crashes in 1.4.2_12. 1.4.2_12 is the latest 1.4 build. Our solution is not bean based so it might actually work ok if you use the OfficeBean.
