But in general the communication is done over mailing lists in all
OO.org projects and i (as the API project lead) wouldn't like to change
it at the moment. If you want to benefit from direct communication with
the developers than you should stay with the mailing list.
Just a gmane archive could be a good point for some people who like to
read the mails as blogs or news. But, like you I don't see any interest
to create another communication channel.
