i have finished my tests and i can't reproduce it with the builds m8 and m9.
I ran the test applications in VirtualBox Image with WinXP SP2. When no
office is installed i got the expected "no UNO installation found"
error. With OpenOffice.org 2.4.1 i got a new empty writer doc as
expected and with OpenOffice.org 3.0 (m9) i got the empty writer doc as
well.
Please verify the problem next week with the RC4. For me it works as
expected.

Anywayl, i have only OO.org 2.4.1 installed until now in a WinXP SP2
virtualbox image. As i mentioned before i have problems to reproduce it.
I will keep you informed tomorrow ...
I think you can reproduce it: try to run such a JAR without any OOo
installation. This failure above will occur. But another failure should
occur (no UNO installation found).
